Originelle Réserve

The Quintessence

Varietals

A blend of 80% Chardonnay and Aligoté and 20% of Pinot Noir.

Tasting Note

Because we obtained it, before blending, and after four years of patience... this rare creation allows us to offer you a wine of great quality by its aromatic complexity, its volume in the mouth, and its balance. A fine effervescence accompanies the lace of its bubble to exalt this harmony.

Food and wine pairing

Aperitif, cocktail party, throughout the meal.

Soils

While the formation of the French Prealps and the Ice Age have created a very heterogeneous chaotic soil in the Bugey region, the Montagnieu soil on the other hand is very homogeneous. It is characterised by a very calcareous white clay soil full of ammonites and other fossilised sea molluscs. It is these geological characteristics and the symbiosis of the grape varieties described above that have made the reputation of Montagnieu's wines.

Vinification

It is the result of great expertise in the traditional method. Using my own yeasts in the secondary fermentation enhances both the aromatic complexity and the delicacy of the bubbles.
